Linda Remy
Linda Remy  

Linda L Remy, PhD, President, is serving her second term as President. Linda has worked as a health policy researcher at the University of California, San Francisco since 1989. Before that, she worked as a consultant, designing information systems and conducting research and evaluation for a wide variety of non-profit organizations. Linda has published articles and reports on healthcare, foster care, jails and prisons, and mental health. She has taught graduate classes in research methods and human development at several colleges and universities. A person with a wide variety of interests, Linda also co-wrote two successful films and was Associate Producer for one of these. She served as a publicly elected Director of the Marin Healthcare District from 1996 to 2000. Her undergraduate degree is from New College of California and her graduate degrees are from UC, Berkeley.

Michelle Chouinard, RN, Vice-President. Michelle Chouinard is serving her first term as Vice-President. She has worked as a public health psychiatric nurse, treating the severely mentally ill. Very active politically, she has been shop steward for her union, serves on various labor union boards, and works for healthcare reform. With a long-standing concern for criminal justice reform, Michelle also serves as a Director for the Prison Law Project.

Donna Sofaer, Secretary-Treasurer, is serving her third term in this position. She joined the Board in 1997. Donna is the Vice President of Development and Communications for a large non-profit health research organization. She has held administrative positions in other non-profit health and welfare organizations and in the private sector. Donna obtained her Business Administration degree at Dominican College of California.

David Glick, Director, joined the MHF Board in 1997. He is a poet, licensed psychotherapist, and political activist with the Social Justice Center of Marin. David began private practice in 1976 working with adults, couples, families, and groups. He also has worked as a newspaper reporter and as a therapist in a psychiatric hospital and state prison. David opposed the Vietnam War and refused induction into the military. He has worked on campaigns to support Palestinian national rights, end the war against Iraq, have a single payer healthcare system in California, restore local control of Marin General Hospital, and support free speech radio at KPFA.

Roberta Kingston, MSW, JD. Director. Robbie previously served as Vice-President. An attorney, mediator, and mental health professional, she has been active in community health for over 20 years. For most of her career, she served people through non-profit community based organizations. A founder of several organizations, Robbie also has served on boards and commissions in the forefront of addressing community concerns and tailoring effective responses to those concerns. She received her Social Work degree from UC, San Diego, and her law degree from New College of California
