Given our broad directives, the MHF has focused primarily on three major initiatives.

• The Public Healthcare Initiative focuses on protecting healthcare rights and healthcare assets.
   
• The Public Media Initiative was created to protect and promote the vital role of public media in disseminating information about healthcare reform efforts.
   
• The Awards for Vision and Achievement (AVAs) recognize individuals who envisioned a uniquely creative approach to a pressing social issue and achieved their vision in a way that engaged society.
